First Game Jitters - Great Effort

We started our first game, delayed, due to the games in front going a little longer then expected. We played the RBI Angels from MD. We started out with first game jitters, but rallied nicely as the game got under way. We had our chances, leaving the bases loaded late in the game but, all in all, we did well for our first game in Cooperstown! Especially when you know that they have only been playing ball together as a team for a very limited time. Highlights of the game were several great defensive plays by several of the players, as well as Alex's homerun in the bottom of the 6th. Final score was 8-5. Nick pitched 3 innings and Chad pitched 3 innings. Hopefully what the boys took away from this game was that we can play with these teams! Go Grays! The pictures are some that Polly Burch (Alex's Mom) took today during the game. Thanks for sharing them Polly. We play again tonight at 7:00 pm. We play the Baton Rouge Mariners from LA. We are on Field 20 which unfortunately means you won't be able to see the game on the Internet. We'll keep you posted!
