Rain Delay in Scheduled Starts - Changed again

Okay - I give up!! Here's the latest update from the Official Dreams Park Site as of 4:00 p.m. Our game will now start at 8:00 PM Tonight rather than 9:00 PM and the tournament games will start tomorrow as previously scheduled - Barring further rain delays!!! I won't post anymore changes here - check the official site for further delays! Let's go Grays!!

Due to inclement weather today's game schedule is REVISED TO THE FOLLOWING:
*11:00 a.m. games will resume play where they left off at 5:30 p.m.
THIS AFTERNOON*1:45 p.m. games will be played at 6:00 p.m.
TONIGHT*4:30p.m. games will be played at 8:00 p.m.
TONIGHT*7:00p.m. games will be played at 10:00 p.m. TONIGHT.

Tuesday - Rain Delay - Schedule Update

ATTENTION, ATTENTION !!!( Tuesday, June 30, 2009 2:45 p.m.)
Due to inclement weather today's game schedule is as follows:
*11:00 a.m. games will resume play where they left off at 6:00 p.m.
*1:45 p.m. games will be played beginning at 7:00 p.m.
*4:30 p.m. games will be played beginning at 9:00 p.m.
*7:00p.m. games will be played Wednesday morning (7/1/2009) beginning at 8:00 a.m.

The tournament seeding meeting will take place Wednesday 10:15 a.m. at the Dining Pavilion You will also make your web-cast game selection at this time.

The Weekly Tournament will start at 12:00 Noon (Weather Permitting)

Also, just wanted to tell you that you can view the pictures "larger" simply by clicking on the picture. This will not open as a new window so you will have to use your browser's back button to return to the blog page. This should help you figure out who is who! Thanks for the information on how to "label" each picture, I will try to look into doing that but it may not happen until after the tournament is done. I'm doing good to get the pictures up sometimes!

Quck Update - Tues. Games

Hello. Just a quick update. First, I was called to the Infirmary last night to come and pick up Jordan who had a fever. He was still sick this morning so I took him to a walk in health clinic. The good news is that it is just a sinus infection and we have started the antibotics. The bad news is that he and I both missed this morning's early game at 8:30 which means I don't have any pics or commentary or scores to post for you. I do know that we lost the game. We were able to catch up with the team and some of the parents at the Baseball Hall of Fame just before lunch time. Everyone was still in good spirits and seemed to be enjoying the sights and sounds of downtown Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame. Hopefully, I can get some pics from Polly later today or tomorrow from that game.

As far as the 2nd game scheduled for today at 4:30. Right now, we are in a rain delay. I believe the delay started with the 11:00 games about 1/2 way done. This means that they will have to finish the 11:00 games then play the 1:45 games before the 4:30 games will begin. So, who knows when that game will get underway!! I can tell you that at the Opening Ceremonies they told us they were playing games last week into the wee hours of the morning (like 3:00 a.m.!!) to get all the innings of all the games in! So, for now we are simply on stand by. You can check the official website, Cooperstowndreamspark.com, to find out more details once the rain delay is over! I can also tell you that it is still presently raining where I am 5 miles from the Park at 3:00 p.m.! I also believe that the team we are scheduled to play, the Kentucky Buccaneers, is one of the teams who was in play at 11:00 that got delayed. Here's more of my pics - I'm trying to make sure we have some of everybody here but sometimes its hard to tell who is who when I'm looking at little tiny pics and they all look alike! Let me know if I'm missing anybody!

Late game tomorrow is our last one before the single elimination tournament begins. It is against the Kentucky Buccaneers at 4:30. That game will not be available on the internet! Once the pool play is completed, they will post the tournament brackets so stay tuned tomorrow to see how these last two games go and to find out when they have their first game on Wed.

Monday Night's Game - Another one in the Books

This game we played the South Florida Bombers. Unfortunately, an ugly game early and an ugly game late means another loss for the team. 8 runs in the 1st inning for your opponent is hard to dig your way back out from. However, the boys kept their heads up and scored 2 runs in the bottom of the inning to stay in the game early. They then played some great defense for several innings to stay close. The bats were swinging and making contact, but we just aren't finding the open gaps. We were only struck out twice in this game, but line drives right to their defense kept us from mounting an early comeback in this game. They then went on a scoring run in the top of the 6th to put the game out of reach. Final score was 17-2. Nick and Parker each pitched 3 innings in this game. Our next game is early tomorrow morning at 8:30. We play the New York Outlaws on Field 2 which means you can catch that game on the Internet if you can get up early enough! Let's hope the boys get up with a spring in their step! Let's Go Grays!

We are in the blue uniforms in this game. We are in red for the second game this afternoon. Red is "home" and Blue is "away". Just an FYI in case you didn't know. Cooperstown provides the Uniform shirts, hats and socks which they all play in. Makes it difficult to "find" your team in the crowd!!

Game 3 - Monday at 11 - Versus GA Team

This game was a struggle from the beginning, but the boys hung in there and tried to battle back. The bats just aren't working for us yet. We had some great defensive plays, and missed several that should have been made, but then, that's baseball! The guys knew coming up that this was going to be a tough environment to win in, but they keep battling. Hopefully, those bats will come alive for them soon. We play again today at 4:30 against the South Florida Bombers. That game will not be available on the Internet so we'll try to post an update as quickly as possible. Keep battling guys and Go Grays! Jason was the starting pitcher. Jordan came in and pitched an inning in relief as did Liam. Coach Tommy and Coach Eric are doing a great job getting everyone in the games to play. They are also doing a good job keeping the guys battling for their first win. Thanks Coaches for all your hard work!
